I have 2 AVI Xvid files, from the same source. Mpeg4 video,
and 5channel ac3 audio. I'm trying to convert to dvd,
and am having issues with the 2nd video file.

I'm using VirtualdubMod to strip the ac3 from the files,
then make the dvd with Ulead. First file works fine, loads
fine in Ulead, and plays perfectly after burning. The 2nd
ac3 file will NOT load, and gives me the following error in
Ulead dvd workshop2: "file format mismatch".

I get this error in Ulead dvd moviefactory3 "file contains
    no audio"

My thinking is that the 2nd avi file is somehow corrupt.
Are there any programs that can check the file for me?

I did use VirtualDub, and did the scan video for errors,
but it came back with this:

0 frames bad, 0 frames good but undecodable (same thing i get
when i run this for 1st video file)

Also, i've tried AC3FIX, but it doesnt seem to maked a fixed
file, regardless of which avi file i choose. So perhaps i'm
doing something wrong. I click OPEN, and choose the source
file, then I click SAVE and type a name for the new file. When i
do that, next to the PROCESS button it says "in ok, out ok",
before i even click the PROCESS button. And a new ac3 file
is NOT created. Any help appreciated.

    thanks,

OK, i did that, but doesnt seem that anything has happened.
Is there a new file that should be created? a fixed file? looks
like a command prompt box opened, but it happens so fast,
    hard to tell.

    thanks for the reply.

OK, i just opened a command promt box, and ran ac3fix manually. i had been using the GUI thing.
It checked the file and came back with
NO BAD FRAMES ENCOUNTERED, and spit out a
    new file.

I was now able to load the FIXED file into ULEAD.
thanks so much for the tip!!
