I also have Ulead DVD Workshop 1.2 and it has a box you can tick to not convert to a compliant mpg file but I cannot find it in DVDW2. I'm trying to author a DVD and my files are CCE converted and I don't want Ulead DVD Workshop 2 to reconvert them, their encoder is terrible. Is there a trick or am I overlooking something in DVDW2. Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Joe.

It will automatically NOT re-encode if they are truly compliant. DVDWS2 is MUCH more intelligent than v1.

lordsmurf, thanks for your fast reply Sorry I'm kind of new to DVD stuff, I used to burn SVCDs. I forgot to mention that they're not truly DVD compliant 480/480, but I thought I could force it anaway, and get more mpg files into a DVD. Stupid me. Guess I'm gonna have to use other kinds of programs like. SVCD2DVD, though I really like the flexibility and menus of DVDW2. There's no way around this, right?

Thanks for the tip canadateck, but it won't let me untick the box or let edit the template, which is kind of strange. Gonna have to figure out some other way.

use dvdlab to author as it will accept svcd 480x480 (gives option to ignore non-compliant warning) and you will get svcd on dvd without any re-encoding! works like a charm, and a very high percentage of home dvd players that play svcd will also play the newly created svcd on dvd just fine..my jvc and phillips do. i typically get 2 svcd movies on one dvd without having to re-encode to fit.
