Ive just upgraded to a DVD writer from a cdrw ( pioneer dvd rw108) , im using nero express 6 im selecting data and selecting the dvd writer , using a dvd blank , finalsing disk and disk at once ( no other option) it starts to burn and hangs after a few mins at diffrent times , 3% ,33% etc , is there a setting i should be using on nero ? im
at the end of my tether , can someone please HELP !!!!!!!!!!

You didn't say what speed you're burning at. I had lots of problems burning cd's and dvd-r's till I backed off the speed. I now do CD's at 16x and dvd's at 2-2.2x. No more hangs for me after that. I have separate cd and dvd burners, so I don't think it was a hardware thing, also might be the fact that I buy the cheapest media I can find.

Cheers Rock , ive just tried another burning program called copy2dvd and i noticed in the setup it had a "burn proof " option that i selected and it burned it 1st time perfect
I did notice also on NERO when i done a pre burn speed test it said burn speed lowered to 2x due to source speed .
Think im gunna stick with copy2dvd from now on though

why burn at 2x with a pioneer 108?????
i get media fo 35p and burns at 8x and works on EVERY
single thing that can play DVD's
and that's on a 107 i take it 108 is 12x? -
its a pioneer 108 DX , only got it a few days ago and am new to the DVD writer world chaps , so any info on it will great
I thought it was 32x cdr and 4x dvd
if anyone can tell me otherwise , please do -
