problem with DVD

i have just learned how to make a dvd movie and burn it to a dvd disc.
i have LG medias and LG dvd player and it plays the medias perfectly, but i have also Hyunday dvd player that has a problem playing the same disc-it reads the disc ok but the picture is distorted.
what makes the problem-the disc or the dvd?

It could be either. I have made dvd's with a settop recorder and with my pc. We have a few different players plus the drive in the pc. There have been times in my case where, right from the start a dvd plays fine in the pc & the panasonic settop recorder, but has problems on the apex in my daughters room. this would seem to be a problem with the apex, being an older unit. Other times I have had discs that worked on the apex for awhile start to play funny, stop, stutter, etc. I'd check them on the panasonic and it was funny there too. It was on some of the "bargain" media I purchased. Your best bet is too have as new of a dvd player as possible, check for updates for the firmware for your pc dvd drive, and use quality media.
