  1. I’m fairly new to burning DVD movies and using DVD authoring software. In one of my older computers I have and use an ATi 8500DV video card that allows me to capture. My VCR hooked into my entertainment system has taken a dump, and rather than pay money toward buy and new VCR (old tech) I saving my funds for a new DVR with TiVo with multiple tuners. I have been using my computer and records shows when I'm away from home or sleeping. I have captured in about every format there is, VCD, SVCD, and low, medium, and high quality DVD. Recently for unknown reasons I have started running into problems with the different authoring Nero Vision Express, and Ulead products. I was capturing in high quality DVD, but it eats up a lot of HD space, so then I stepped down to medium quality DVD. I really could not notice any difference in the quality of video play back between ATi's medium & low quality DVD capture, so I stepped down to DVD low to save even more HD space. I have been getting errors from Nero Vision part way through it process of authoring low quality DVD I have captured. Some times it burns the file just fine, and then the next file it closes with an error during the beginning process. The most frustrating par t is when I uses Ulead Movie factory 3, or Ulead Video Studio 8, the record the file just fine, but when I got to play it back in my DVD component player (JVC XV-NA77SL) via my entertainment system, it has good video quality, but has absolutely no audio at all. How or why is the audio being left out using Ulead movie factory & video studio?

do you hear any audio if you play the dvd on your computer? you maybe must change the audio settings in your dvd player if you use mpa/mp2 audio(output mpeg audio as pcm).

  3. Yes, it always plays just fine on my computer, its why i cant figure out why I have no audio on component player. For the Nest recording I going to go back to DVD medium or high quality to see if this solves the problem.
