  1. I need to buy a carrying case for my camcorder and accessories. I have a Sony DCR-TRV19. The accessories I would like to keep with my camcorder are a ECM-MS908C Microphone, a .45x Wide Angel Lens, 12 dv tapes, NP-QM91 battery, spare batteries for my microphone, power cable, and my a/v cable. I also have a small digital camera. I would like to keep the microphone, lens and NP-QM91 battery attached to my camcorder so I can just pull the camcorder out and have it ready, but I don't want all my cables and tapes falling out by accident.

Where can I find a good carrying case for my needs?

    Thanks.

Another thing to worry about is will the case protect toggle switches and other protrusions? Most modern tiny cameras will NOT be protected. My last video camera has a broken zoom button. Since it will cost $75-150 simply to diagnose, I plan to fix it myself (hopefully) in coming weeks.

I just recently bought a small MAINSTAYS camera bag at Walmart. It it extremely sturdy, and has a side open. It will not crush, therefore not damage the toggles. But it is mainly JUST for a camera and a couple side knick-knacks.

Most bags are simply padded, but fail under minor pressure. This is bad.

If you need something bigger, I suggest visiting a pro camera shop. Some of the best bags made are made by LOWEPRO. Again, a PRO shop, not the local Wolfe or Foto Hut or whatever. One litmus test for a "pro" shop is to call and see if they have the Nikon F5 or Canon EOS-IV in stock. If not, that's not a pro shop. If so, you found your store.

NEVER buy a bag that is "just big enough". Get one with a bit more headroom, and use cardboard to re-inforce it in places that need it. Having everything crammed in one bag will ALWAYS damage the contents at some point in its lifetime. I know this all too well.
