Trying to make a "back up" of the Punisher (2004), but DVD shrink can't do job, keeps coming up with message that it's encountering encryption.
Applied AnyDVD to disc, DVD shrink still has same problem.
Anybody know what going on; how to solves this?

Try ripping the disc with DVDDecrypter or SmartRipper then open up the files w/ DVDShrink.

    am trying DVDecyrpter/DVDshrink/DVDecrypter method.
I've getting that encryption message approximately 160 KB into the the DVDshrink session, about 10x latr when coupled with AnyDVD.
Hopefully the above method won't take much longer than the shrink/decrypter method, started to try Nero Recode but that looked like it would take as long as the movie itself.

    this is what I do:

Make sure original dvd is clean.

play the original dvd on computer and pause it.

    then start dvd shrink.

once in a while wnen I see everything is ok I will shut the dvd player off but I have found that keeping it in pause makes no difference and dvd shrink will be ok

    tk25;
this off topic; but seeing your location, brought back memories. My family used to vacation in the resorts outside of town. Since this was essentially 35 years ago I imagine that Hawyard has grown greatly, and, a lot of those resorts may be gone.
(we stayed on teh Cheif Lake system.)

Yes Hayward is a boom area. Lake frontage is now almost $3500 per foot on the three best lakes (Round, Coude ray, and grindstone). That chief lake resort is now being condiminiumized with new upgraded cabins. I live about 8 miles from the chief lake resort.

  12. I've run into this with Shrink and DVDdecrypter, not with your particular movie, but with another. There is a flaw on the DVD surface that the drive is not able to read. Try another movie.

$3500/sq ft! Sound like about 10x what my parents spent renting a cottage at the old Chief lake Lodge

movie "backed up" succesfully, though play back on computer seemed somewhat jerky. Want to see how it looks on console.

For the edification of other members, can you post what you did to make the backup successful?

    used the decyrpter/shrink/decyrpter method.
used decyrpter to produce the ISO file, then had shrink reencode the file, finally let decyrpter take the file, reconvert it to dvd, and, burn it to blank media.
method is described in guide section.

Just sampled disc made through Decyrpter/Shrink/Decyrpter method on console (Apex AD-2600.) The jerkiness I thought I spotted while sampling through my computer WAS NOT present this time.
