  1. Hi everyone -

I am consistently getting output files significantly greater than the bitrate/#cds setting I specify.

    Output is always > 1GB, although I have specified 1 x 800MB CD.

I am using 3 pass VBR, min 0, avg not selected. The cd image created is always 1 x 800MB, but it chops at about 45 minutes every time. I get the same results regardless of input avi and length of clip (if greater than 45).

This used to work fine before I re-installed everything. Anyone have a suggestion where to look?

    Latest DVD2SVCD, CCE 2.67.

  2. Can you post a screenshot of the Bitrate tab?

Choose 300 as minimum instead, you get better quality. How long is the clip you're encoding? If it's at the edge of going into 2 CD's it might get oversized due to too low bitrate.

  5. I'm not sure but the bit rate tab is only for the video portion. Don't forget you still have the audio to consider unless you're creating a silent movie of course

Since it looks like you're not concerned about video quality (550 KBS ), I assume you're not concerned about the audio either. Are you encoding the audio at 16KB?

  6. I set the bitrate tab like that to make sure the program knew I only ever wanted one cd. In reality, the videos I have tried are around 60-70 minutes. Audio settings don't seem to make any difference, though perhaps I should try a silent movie to see if that changes things I really don't know where else to look. Could there be a messed up reg entry, or config file? I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no change
