Hello
Im making a backup of a PAL DVD (R2) movie to Xvid and I need help
from a proffesional with cropping and resizing settings.
The original video resolution is 720x576 but I have analyzed a
screencapture made (at 100% vieweing size) in my DVD software.
The screencap has a:
DAR (Display Aspect Ratio) of 960x540 pixels [1.77:1] and the true
VAR (Video Aspect Ratio) is 960x518 pixels [1.85:1]
According to my calculations and some test rips I have found 2
options where the AR looks good and the full true video area will be
included (in other words two options I will be satisfied with):

Option 1:
Cropping 640x344 [1.85:1] (not exactly but often used as Avi 1.85:1)
Resizing 640x360 [1.77:1]

Option 2:
Cropping 624x336 [1.85:1]
Resizing 624x352 [1.77:1]

Which option should I choose to get the best quality and why???
I dont choose 640x352 cause then I have to cut out parts on the right/left.
(please dont give me a third option since Im already satisfied with theese two options)

Note: In option 1 the height is not dividable by 16, is this gonna cause any trouble or will it work anyway? (In option 2 both width and height is dividable by 16)

Thx/ AquaStealth
