  1. In TMPGEnc, what are the differences between Stereo, Joint Stereo, and Dual Channel sound? Which is the best?

  2. stereo encodes the 2 channels and shares the data between them depending on which needs more. the best mode to use.

dual channel is for 2 completely different channels of audio. e.g. different languages. the bits aren't shared between the channels. your vcd player probably lets u pick the left or right channel.

joint stereo uses the similarities in the 2 channels and shares the sound as well as the data across them. avoid joint stereo because it sometimes makes weird sounding files. it can be better than stereo for 128kbps and below.

see if u can get TooLAME 0.2i. it's better than TMPGEnc, and u can set TMPGEnc to use it.

How do I take two .wav/mp2 files (two audio commentaries to the same video) and join them into a single dual channel audio stream using TMPGEnc? I want to be able to select either the left/right alternate channel on my sVCD.
