Hi,
What software would I use to break a movie file up into parhaps several movie files to use as chapters? Preferably free?

Are you talking about a DVD ? What authoring software do you use ? Usually a movie isn't split into seperate pieces to create chapters, as this can result in a pause between the pieces. Your authoring software should allow you to mark the chapter points without having to resort to this.

Im using DVD Author. I havent used anything else and just assumed that was how you done it.
Whats a good recommendation of DVD Authoring software for a newbie, not too complex but good useability and quality? Also, I would like something that I could add subtitles to movies as a menu option too?
