Just backed up 2 dvd's onto 1 disk, now has box around it?

I just finished backing up both the Urban Legend dvd's onto one disk

I used DVD Shrink to extract the movies from the DVD without the menus, chapters etc and to shrink them so they both would fit.
Then I used Super DVD Ripper 1.89 to convert each movie to an avi
Then Nero Vision to burn them onto the one disk.

This worked really well, and I have excellent sound and picture but the picture has the black space all around it instead of just the top & bottom.

Could someone please suggest what I could have done wrong or how to fix it please?

    Thankyou very much

You have to look at Super DVD Ripper and try to deduce what setting is wrong or missing because you didn't provide any information about how you ran the program.

I used the Wizard and choose DVD to Avi, didn't change any settings or anything

The wizard is the only interface for Super DVD Ripper. I suggest that you contact the programmer/vendor and report this error.

    EDIT

Did the AVI file also have these borders? If not, then they were added by Nero Vision.

No the Avi didn't have the borders only the one above and below, it only happened after I burnt it through Nero Vision. Is there another program I can try to reburn them with?

I believe Nero Vision is encoding a .MPG file which is then burned to your DVD. Insert your DVD and explore it to see what type of files were created by Nero Vision. Post the results.

I checked the disk and the files are exactly the same as you would get of a dvd, the ifo's and vob's etc

On second thoughts, testing the AVI's on the computer wouldn't have worked because doesn't the media player automatically correct the size?

If the AVI file did not have borders, then they were added by the encoding. Did you make or select any settings in Nero Vision before running it?

No only the screen size, I tried burning twice, both with the same results. The first time I ticked to set size automatically, the second time I tried to set it to 16.9

I can't answer any questions about Nero Vision because I've never used it. Have you tried any other encoders?

No all I used is what I said, I tried using Easy Media Creator 7 but it wouldn't accept the two AVI's, doesn't shrink them to the required size like Nero does

I used DVD2SVCD to create SVCDs that are almost as clear as the original DVD.

Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Look to the left under Tools Convert.
