Hi, I don't know what I'm doing wrong here but I have two AVI files with AC3 audio that I want to put on DVD. I am using TMPeng and so I extracted the audio as a WAV file and then set up TMPeng with the right bitrate to allow two foiles on the disc and also set it up to use the WAV file as the audio. But I don't get any audio on the finished MPG. What am I doing wrong? I just can't see it at the momeent and am getting pretty frustrated.
    Cheers for any help.

maybe you got one video file and one audio file? but you don't have to convert the ac3 audio at all, https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=447#447 , just take your mpg and the ac3 audio and author with tmpgenc dvd author.

    Hi SilverDales,

Use AVICodec on the output file to see what (if any) audio is present. Or, as Baldrick says, it may be that you got two separate files - one for the audio, one for the video.

The latter would occur if you've got "ES (Video+AUdio)" selected.

You'll get video only (in an .m2v file) if you've got "ES (video only)" selected.

See here for a pic of TMPGEnc's interface - look to the bottom right...

    Hope that helps...

HI, right I only have one mpg file which AVIcodec says doesn't have an audio strream.. I had TMPgenc set up as System(video+audio).
Baldrick I didn't realise I could do it that way, I will give it a go. I want the two files to fit the DVD and run concurrently with out an obvious join.
The problem with the AC3 audio is that one AVI file has 5 chanel AC£ and the other has 6 channel AC3, would that method work still?

Ok Baldrick I used your guide and fed the MPG into TMPgebnc Author and the AC3 audio(fixed with Beslice) and all worked finr for the second half, but the first half had the audio 7 seconds ahead of the video? now I read about using Audacitl to edit the audio and add 7 seconds of silence to the beginning of the audio but I havn't a clue how to do that, help.
