    without using vfapi

    rename the *.vdr file to *.avs

    (assuming you installed virtualdubmod frame serving)

    BJ_M, I just found out that Avisynth has to be installed or ProCoder can't open .avs files. Works great if Avisynth is installed though.

    After running into the same set of problems as others, I have installed AVISynth and I can now finally frameserve to Procoder 2. Thanks to all of you who participated in these threads. It is wonderful to be able to launch a problem on these forums and almost always get the answers. Whatever did we do before the days of Internet

    Since this makes Procoder work, should I stick with TMPGenc or should I go to ProCoder?

    I am capturing Hi8 at 368x480, resizing to 344x480 and padding out to 352x480 in VD them frameserving to TMPGEnc for Half D1 VBR.

    This works pretty well since all the footage is very clean. I've eperimented with clears and other filters and see no noticable difference so just encode directly to Half D1 as is.

    I saw in other posts that ProCoder creates a image closer to teh original then TMPGEnc does. Is it worth the switch and how much faster would PC be then TMPGEnc? Should I use 1.5 or 2?

    All I get is this:

    Script error: syntax error
    (D:\video.avs, line 1, column 5)
    This is what displays in the preview of Procoder 2.

    /////////// NEVERMIND //////////////

    I re-ran AUXSETUP again, re-installed frameserving, works fine now. Encoding away.
