  1. I bought a commercially released DVD (original) and tried playing it on a Samsung DVD player but no audio comes out of it. I then played it on a Sony player and the audio could now be heard. I am sure that it is not a hook-up problem given that other DVDs can be heard fine on the Samsung player. It is just this particular one that gives this problem.

Any ideas of what could be causing this? Is there a way around it so that I can hear the audio on the Samsung player?

    Thanks.

My player is happy with mpeg audio, but my amp wont play it There is a setting in my player to output mpeg audio as LPCM - you may have something similar in yours.

Thanks for your reply. How can I figure out what the audio is? Once I figure this out, would it be possible to convert the audio to a format that the Samsung player will recognize? Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately this player does not seem to have this option. I have tried all the different audio setup options. But, since I am feeding audio right into the TV set through RCA audio cables and not to an amp, this case probably does not apply, correct? Thanks.
