I suppose it's about time someone actually did do a complete shoot out between all the defragmenters to determain which one does perform the best. However this would need to be subjective aswell, my concern is not how quickly the app defrags but can it reduce fragmentation from occuring in the first place. I used Diskeeper for years, but since I switched to Perfectdisk, I have noticed fragmentation does not occur as much as it did with Diskeeper (probably something to do with Smartplacement - have no idea how this works, but it does) and this means I do not need to defrag as often and the systems performance doesn't de-grade as quickly. That's why I think Perfectdisk is awesome. It's works for me... -
never said diskeeper was 'best' either ..
here is some good info on defrag in general...

or read any of these other reviews listed here

i think using o&o or diskkeeper or system mechanic or perfect disk -- no mater which one is better than none at all or using the built in one ..
they are all pretty good in their own way and when you get down to it -- it's splitting hairs .."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650)
