I posted in the canopus forum but just in case anyone here has seen this..
In procoder 1.5 I am trying to create two WMF files, one at 640kbps and another at low bitrate 30kbps .. for some reason, the total bitrate in procoder does not change even when I select the 30 kbps stream and try to use it to encode..the resulting file is the same size and shows as 640kbps in the windows media player...
this seems like a bug but maybe it's something I am doing wrong or maybe there's a workaround
anyone seen this before? TIA

well, I partly figured it out (to reply to my own post)...the 'system profile' was not selected, so it must default to a high bitrate...when I do select the profile (e.g. 28.8k dialup, etc.), it changes the overall bitrate properly..the selected profile is not shown for some reason, but at least I think I see why it's happening...
