First, I think I'm in the right forum, but forgive me if I'm not.
Now, I have some video from my Panasonic DVR that is in broadcast resolution (704x576). I'm trying to take four 1/2 hour episodes and author a single DVD use TMPG DVD Author. As I go through the process everything looks right. However the end product has a thin black bar down the left hand side of the picture. I'm guessing this is the missing 36 lines of resolution between DVD & broadcast resolution.
My question is how do I author the DVD at the same resolution as my source files so that I don't end up with this black bar?
I also have DVD Lab, but I can't find a way to do it there either.
Thanks in advance.
Richard

Is this bar visible only on your PC, or on your TV as well. It may have been part of the original broadcast, but hidden in the overscan area of your TV. If this is the case, ignore it and plow on. Some programs have a thin border all the way around, some have none.

The bar is visible on the PC & on the standalone player. If it was an overscan issue I would expect it to be the same on the source & the authored DVD since I'm playing both on the same machine. I'm trying to say that my DVR & my stand alone player are the same machine. So, if the recorded broadcast is overscanned and correctly displays, I would expect the authored DVD to as well.
It doesn't.
Thanks,
