  1. I use software packages such as Nero and Roxio to create audio CD's that I am able to play on other players including portable, automobile, and "standard" PC type CD or DVD players. But I can't get them to play on my DVP-S5S30D, I keep getting the No Disc error.

I haven't tried using CD-RW's, just CD-R. I've used the Memorex Music CD-R which is a 74 minute CD, TDK data CD's, and probably some others of the years. I haven't tried burning VCD or DVD's...

I see some issues or questions in the forums / web site in regards to DVDs or VCD's, in regards to this player, but nothing about audio CD's... Has anyone had any success in playing homemade audio CD's on the DVP-S5S30D? If so, what is it I need to know?

    Thanks,

    David...

  2. I have a Sony DVD player, it's pretty picky when it comes to what it will and won't play. Try different media, or maybe burn slower.

What sort of media have you used that works, and is your Sony the same model I have or a different one? I've tried all the way down to 4x with no success.

  4. Mine is a DVP-NS300. It's DVD-Rs that I have trouble with, the thing is a picky piece of crap to me. I just tried a TDK CD-R, nada. It did take the Memorex CD-R from a standalone though. My 5 year old Panasonic is much better at what it will play than the Sony is.
