Hi everyone. My backups work fine, but ever since I bought my last set of Verbatim Datalife DVD-R's, I've run into disc after disc of freezing games. They will take forever to load anything.

At first I thought perhaps it was the laser, so I cleaned that twice. But that didnt help out.

Then I considered the media, but the reason I buy Verbatim DVD-R's is because everybody recommended them to me. Now it seems like everyone recommends using Ritek G04 DVD-R's. They say those are the best. Well, my question is... are these the ones?

I just want to know everyone's opinion before I buy them...

OH, and I ALWAYS burn at 1x, with no other programs running.

I have v7 No-Solder Chip with Swap Magic 2.0 Discs.

    Any help is appreciated!!!

Yep. Those are Ritek G04. But they're far from the best. Ritek used to make a better DVD, but now they're on a par with Optodisc or Prodisc. Not bad, but not the best. G03 are about the same quality.

    The best stuff is now Taiyo Yuden (TYG01, TYG02), TDK (TDKG02, TTG01), Maxell (TYG01, MXLRG01, MXLRG02).

Wow I had no clue, so are TDK/Maxell pretty expensive? Becuase I dont want to be making "coasters" everytime I go to back-up a game. What would you recommend?

None of them are really expensive anymore, unless you consider 50 cents a disc "expensive"

WOW, only 50 cent a disc? Where do you usually purchase your DVD-R's. I hope I can find some TDK or MAXELL for that cheap.
