Doom9 has released DVD2SVCD 1.04 build 1 with 30% faster encoding using Cinema Craft Encoder 2.5
Just awesome. Better quality and only takes 6 hours instead of 9 hours to encode DVD to SVCD.

realt it takes 9 hours with DVD2SVCD with CCE it take me less then 5 hours to encode the video and audio with separate programs..i was going to use DVD2SVCD but now i know it takes 6-9 hours, forget it
-
Of course the speed depends on resolution, filters, how many passes and many other things. I know that, you know that and juice should know that as well. In fact DVD2SVCD uses the fastest dvd to svcd conversion method, that give you a high quality SVCD.
Personally I do not use DVD2SVCD, because I love to keep the full flexibility and full controll over the process, but I use all the tools, that DVD2SVCD uses.
Btw, DVD2SVCDreleased DVD2SVCD, who else? -
how is DVD2SVCD ? does it still use "Send Keys" so you can't touch your computer while it's working?
whats the reason to use DVD2SVCD over say just setting up a framserve to CCE myself? -
Pinoy, Stinky dont you people ever sleep or go to work?
Thats the reason DVD2SVCD rules, just click and go and when you return to the puter...Voila! -
Yes, it is a all-in-one tool. Setup DVD2SVCD and it will everything do for you from dvd decryption to the readdy to burn SVCD image. Of course you can touch the computer while it is working, just leave it alone when it is switching from one task to another.

ok one more question
can you split a dvd into part1 & part2 (set source range) or do you have to split the mpeg-2 once it's done -
As far as I know, DVD2SVCD uses bbMPEG multiplex to split the file. Until now I could not find an option to use the source range. Just another reason for me, not to use it.

Plus i heard DVD2VCD is not that stable...i hat programs that might cuase my computer to crash
-
Have to say your wrong there DVD2VCD is very stable if you updated your CCE with the CRC patch. Never crashed once on me after that.
I have a dual boot puter and used it under Win98 and XP. No probs here.
You have to set the pass rate to 4. 5 takes too long. You can even go down to 3 pass for animation and not notice the difference.
