Hello,
I just opened a brand new DVD set of the TV series Cheers, 2nd season and when I tried playing it on my Samsung DVD player, the audio is missing. I tried it on 2 other Samsung players (different models) and still no sound. I then tried it on a Sony DVD player and voila! The audio is there! I am using RCA cable connections (yellow, red, white). Windows Media player also plays the audio fine but the software that came with my LG DVD unit does not play the audio at all. The discs only have stereo, English audio tracks, no 5.1 or other languages. I also tried tweaking the audio Setup options on my Samsung player but no luck.
The strange thing is that I also own the 1st and 3rd seasons of this same TV series, and the audio of both sets plays fine on my Samsung player. It is only season 2 that has the problem.
Weird eh?
Any ideas of what could be causing this? Is there a way that I can get the audio to play on my Samsung player? Would copying the discs with some specific software solve this?
Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Are you in NTSC or PAL land? Maybe your DVD has MPEG audio instead of AC3 and your player don't like it, or vice-versa. Just a guess.
