  1. I have been looking for good cheap CD-R, I looking for a brand name product sold by a brand name store. I looking for both spindles and slim cases. I don't want disc that are silver on both side, I hate it when the silver peels off.

Here is what I've found so far.

    Spindle:

    50 pack, 19.81 or 39.62 cents each.

    Silm case:

    100 pack $59.47 or 59.47 cents each

  11. as far as imation, sony, tdk goes, does a certain brand work better with a certain CDRW? for instance i use imation, but I've used less than 25 and i have a sony cdrw. i plan to start burning more, so should i use sony cd-r's because of my sony cdrw? i've seen that a few people talk against imation. has anyone had any trouble with sony?

  13. My 2 cents, for what its worth...

I've had a lot of problems with Imation, Memorex, TDK.

Good luck with Fuji (my personal favorite), PNY, Verbatim. I'd add the cheapo K-Hypermedia (Outpost.com and elsewhere) to the good list, but they're 'fragile' - its very easy to chip off pieces of the printed side, which in turn ruins the disc.

The Fujis are manufactured by Taiyo Yuden, which are well known as probably the highest quality CD-R's. I think HP CD-R's are TY's as well.

Haven't tried Sony, but I believe they are similar to Maxell (maybe made by same factory?) which are nice as well.

At this point, I wouldn't worry about getting 'cheap' CD-R media, as there really aren't any expensive brands. The slightly higher prices you'll pay for good media is well worth it I think.

You can find Fujis and PNY online with rebates for pretty nice prices - around $15 for a 50 spindle.
