Isn't that overkill???? I thought 6.1 was the highest that movies were encoded for home theaters. I know that Chicken Run SE is encoded in DTS 6.1 ES. I don't know of any discs that are encoded at higher than 6.

So I guess my question is are these 7 and up receivers using VIRTUAL processing???? Also, do these actually use that many speakers???? I guess if your willing to pay that much extra you might as well. But it seems to push the envelope if the studios aren't releasing discs that ACTUALLY contain that many discrete channels.

those krell master reference amps weigh 700lbs apeice, i wonder:

1. how to get them in the house?
2. do i need to reinforce my floors for 5000lbs of amps and preamp ?
3. how to pay for them ?


i used to have a krell 50 and a krell 100 , those were beasts for sure on their own .. now i just have ashley fet500's for amps and DCM time windows (original model) for surrounds and vandersteins 2c's for mains L+R. And some other systems for other areas (like the dance/playroom/bar has a eaw system)..
