avicodec says all codecs supported,but can't convert avi

i managed to convert 4 avi's using dvd2vcd,tmpengc,dvd author,now when i try to preview frames(of the same avi's) i get following message:
AVISOURCE couldn't locate a decompressor for fourcc divx (c:\program files\dvd2svcd\temp\preview-avs line 2)
all codecs are supported,as i have checked using avicodec-all avi's play on my pc
the video codecs i use are divx v5 and xvid mpeg-4 depending on wether avi is xvid or divx
the audio is mpeg layer - 3
i have just uninstalled the codecs and reinstalled them using k-lite codec pack,i have no other codecs installed

If you have already converted the files to dvd why do you want to preview the same avi's just re-install the same codec's that you used to convert it to dvd in the first place
