  1. I have a Sony DW-U14A which I have had for about 6 months, and recently it stopped reading or recognizing any kind of DVD media (DVD movies, DVD+R, DVD-R). The media itself is fine, it can all be read just fine in my Toshiba DVD-ROM drive. The drive worked fine & would read anything when I bought it. This is driving me nuts since I replaced a DRU-500A unit which started doing the same thing. As far as I know the DW-U14A will still burn DVD media, and it will read/write CD's just fine. Does anyone have any suggestions, is this drive starting to go bad as well, if it is I'm not getting a Sony next time!!!
