I have stuff that I have recorded from my tv card. I want to take out the commercials to save on space. I tried some of the tools listed but they don't seem to be what im looking for. I may have like 10 commercials in one file and I'd like to try to take them out all at the same time if I could I just havn't found one.
Can you guys suggest a good one?

The best that I have found, and I'm doing basically the same thing as you (cutting out commercials and burning onto dvds), I would recommend one of two things. First though, you will need demux, found here on Ted Rossin's site:
http://www.geocities.com/ted_rossin/tools/Video/Video.html
demux will let you split the mpeg file into video and audio, m2v and mp2 (or your audio format). If your audio output with demux isn't mp2, use either BeSweet GUI or ffmpeg GUI to convert it to mp2. Now, the 2 following tools will both do the same thing, but cuttermaran relies on TMPGENC, so if your trial has expired (like mine) use MPEG2Schnitt.
1. Cuttermaran - will let you take your m2v and mp2, cut out the commercials, and create a new mpeg without rendering.
2, MPEG2Schnitt - will let you take your m2v and mp2, cut out the commercials, and create a new mpeg without rendering.
I hope this will help you out! -
I use a simple application called windows movie maker to edit stuff recorded either to my hard drive or to a vcr I have running to my capture card. I'm pretty happy with the results.

VCDCutter is a simple program that loads an mpeg and allows you to mark and cut out clips of importance (the ones without commercials) and then it combines those clips back into one mpeg file. No demuxing is required. Experts might say that its method is crude, but if you are interested in editing movies from a TV card, it is probably more than adequate.
It is payware ($25), but the author has sent me a serial for each computer I have and for each hard drive upgrade I have made.
