    JVC Rep. indicated to me that this recorder will not be available to purchase until Mid-November. There probably debugging the US version

    Good to know. Wonder what the problem could be.

    I probably will watch for the Toshiba RD-XS52 which should be out this month. Hopefully they fixed all 'bugs' in this machine (compared to RD-XS32).

    Anyone know if the U.S. version is going to have the 1.5mbps bit rate to HDD with 2-pass encoding (like it was originally supposed to)? Only thing they say now is "Bit Rate Optimizer for the best dubbing quality from HDD to DVD", but they don't mention if the recording rate goes higher than XP.
