yeah I have the BenQ DW822A also disappointed bout the stunt BenQ pulled on this drive. But I just ordered a new drive the NEC 3500A. One reason is because the BenQ drive crashes with nero and I'm using nero version 6.3.1.25. If i burn at low speeds on cd-r it burns fine max speed the drive makes xp blue screen and I have to reboot.
Here is the funny part.
1) CopyToDVD works fine, but I like neroand does not cause XP to crash whatsoever. I'm using SP2 btw. Using CopyToDVD makes great burns everytime.
2) Here is the real kicker. A firend of mind has the same board as I do, same latest bios, his processor a lil faster but not by much and is using XP as well. And his nero does not make his xp crash. But he does not have the BenQ drive. He also has the same PSU as I do.
I've redone my pc to see if it would fix it, nope. I tired using the ASPI dll file form copytodvd and renamed it for nero to replaced nero versoin of the ASPI, still didn't fix it. The only logical thing I can think of is that their latest firmware is messed up or the drive is making XP behave in an abnormal way.
