I recently purchased a dlink 300g second generation modem from ebay. I can't get it to connect doing anything my isp told me to do. I tried all the commands in ms dos like netbios and stuff and even uninstalled my network card drivers and re-installed them but still no luck. The error i'm getting is error 678 cannot connect to remote computer. The tech support ppl told me to make sure my modem was in bridge mode. I download a utility for the modem to change stuff like that but when I go to the section where it says advanced asdl info and try to check bridge a error box pops up every 2 or 3 seconds saying dsl modem bad packet!! . They checked the lines and said they were good. Also whne I try to check the box to update it to bridge mode it has like 7 or 8 channels to pick and I have to set encapsulation mode amd vpi numbers and something else like vci or something. Anybody know if the modem is screwed up or what? thanks

Do you have the installation guide from DLink? If not, you can get it here:

    http://www.dlink.com.au/default.aspx?FolderID=220

I would start with their instructions for bridge mode which seem pretty clear.
