The video GOP is too long.
For a standard DVD it is necessary that the GOP fulfill the following condition:

Max 36 fields (18 frames) (NTSC format only)
Max 30 fields (15 frames) (PAL format only)
I get that message when i try to load a captured mpeg into dvd author.. is there a way to patch this without re-encoding it?

    thankz

  2. Nope, if the GOP is too long, you have to re-encode (or re-capture with the correct settings if you still have the source)

  4. Check out Videoredo. It is payware but excellent software. Great support. They have a tool for cutting long GOP's down to size.

    I ignore this message.
What long GOPs may do is "hic up" during some scenes.

Of course, there are few picky standalones, but those are picky on almost anything!
