  1. So here is the situation in short. I downloaded a movie that is in two files .rar. I unpacked them and under properties it says they are DivX codec with AC-3 audio. I merged the two files using Virtualdub. Then, I extracted the audio using Virtualdub. Then I tried to encode the AVI and MPEG files using TMPGEnc XPress. After just a few seconds of the program running, I get this message.

    VFAPIFrame server.exe

    Error Signature
    App Name: vfapiframeserver.exe
    App Ver: 1.0.0.8
    Mod Name: divxdec.ax
    Mod Ver: 5.1.1.1031
    Offset: 00046773

    Invalid Sample Format
    (error code 0x80048002)

Can someone please tell me what caused this and how to fix it? I did a search and couldn't find anything that was similar to my situation. Also, please don't tell me to use The FilmMachine. I tried to download that program and for some reason it won't work on my PC. Thanks in advance to everyone for all the help with this matter. If there is any other information that you need, please just let me know.

I think when you use a template to convert click on video only to convert, works for me

It may have AC3 VBR audio, which can be a problem for TMPGEnc. I would strip out the audio and convert to WAV, then select the video and the new WAV file in TMPGEnc. I also wouldn't merge them in Virtualdub, but take the two MPEG-2 encoded files and add them both to TMPGEnc DVD Author and they would play one after the other, seamlessly. This can help prevent audio sync problems with merging.
