  1. After authoring dvd's with TMPGEnc DVD Author, I burn the files with Nero. Done it before many times without a problem.

On occasion, when verifying the written data, between 1 & 4 files are read as errors, and Nero calls them "inaccessable".

Is this anything to worry about?

  2. Short Answer, Yes!

I was having that problem on one machine with a Athlon 1200, As a test I changed the Burner, No help, Formatted the drive, No help, Last thing I tried was changing the motherboard. Now every disk verifies OK, Why the MB caused problems burning but not running XP I don't know.

    Cheers

  3. Not strictly for the sake of bumping, but has anyone else come across this error? Changing my motherboard is really not something I want to do if there's an alternative.

Yes I've had the same problem on odd occasions - inaccessable files acording to nero,
but the funny thing is if I powered down my system and restart then inserted the dvd again it played fine!
So now if it ever happens I reset the writer and do a binary compare on the dvd against the source and it has allways worked - all files are identical !
I came to the conclusion that its my dvd burner throwing a dickyfit (probably from over work)

ALSO this only happened when I used crappy cheep media, neverr had it happen on a ritek/sony/ty

  5. Ok, I can figure out what a binary compare is based on your reply (in fact, I was hoping there was a way to do that, I just wasn't aware of the proper term). But how do I do it? Where is the command/tool for that?
