  1. i am thinking about installing win xp sp2. i have many tools and such for video conversion and was wondering if anyone has installed this service pack. if after installing it did you have problems with your programs?

i am reading about this service pack and it does alot. before i install hp says i need to install alot of updates (10 for mine) or things will not work.

since microsoft is great for frelling up a good thing, i am wary to install this.

    thanks,

  2. I had nothing but problems after it installed in an automatic update. Burner problems, Nero problems and printer problems. Took it off, no more problems. Unless it has something you really need don't give yourself the aggrevation.

    I had no problems whatsoever.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  5. I did a fresh install after slipstreaming the SP2 into a original XP (No sp's) so that I was installing as XP SP2. Nero 5.5 was no problem. So far on that machine Zero problems. Another customer's new machine Nero 6 (OEM) caused XP to complain so I nstalled SP1 and all the updates instead.

    YMMV

    Cheers

    If in doubt, Google it.

I wouldn't recommend it, until the bugs are all reported and fixed. Farscape rules, what is it now, 19 days until the miniseries? And the full 88 episode run starts on friday I think!

I am running problem free with Sp2 on both computers.

I have had sp2 installed since the final product came out.

I've installed SP2 on both my home machine and office machine: Both are ASUS P4C800-Deluxe and both locked up - would post and start booting but hung during the Windows splash screen.

Solution was that they needed a motherboard bios update. Now all is well, everything seems to be working...

So, make sure all your bios's are current - it was a pain trying to get a boot disk. It'll be even a bigger pain if you only have one computer...
