    I have had bad experiences converting PAL > NTSC via the IFOEdit method

    now yes I do have a PAL player, but I have friends who dont and are bugging me for I.Robot.

    I am looking for a method that rencodes to NTSC with an ENCODER, why? because that would change ALL properties of the DVD. and would ensure 100% functioality

    I will never understand why electronic companies wont change to both fromats in america

    Tried the GUIDES section < ======== ?

    I wouldn't exactly advertise that you are burning copies for your mates (That's what it sounds like).
    If in doubt, Google it.

    thanks guys, I have been a member and have made great use of this site's resources for a long time. and it has been quite valuable to me

    I looked in the guide section and saw nothing for PAL> NTSC conversion

    not to sound like a smart ass, but i would have to be moron noob to have totally missed the side bar menu 8) I already know the main method that everyone recomends to use for converting pal>ntsc and viceversa, that is buy changing the IFO files in IFOEDIT

    I am looking for a method of converting by encoding. or any other method. I have read all available guides. And if every guide covered every single topic on video whatever, we wouldnt need a forum.

    I am looking for other experts who might know something that hasnt been mentioned or written about yet.

    I am also curious about others experiences in converting between these formats, something that would be discussed in a forum and not in a guide.

    I have just realized though some more research that the problem I had was probably due to framerate. I am just looking for the easiest method(doesnt use 5 different programs) that has perfect results.

    so thanks in advance to anyone who wants to add to this thread.

    Well, sorry to shoot you down champ but there's a whole section on it.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  6. You can use most encoders as format conversion. Simply load you PAL video and select NTSC DVD format as your output. It will convert the frame size and rate to the new format. You will obviously get some motion artifatcs when changing the frame rate, but for regular viewing, it's fine. It's a simple one step process.
