I have a feeling that their RMA department is going to be running a lot of overtime.

Probably- the CH-DVR1530 has less editing features than the Cirrus logic(?) 1500

Ok heres the deal, the 1530 is a little more solid, doesn't run hot. But you lost all editing features. So if your 1500, has given you no problem after firmware upgrade. Its a good idea to keep it if you need the editing features. Also the 1530 allows you to record up to 8 hours instead of 6. But who cares after 4 hours it looks crappy.

I just got mine today. I can't tell if it has a fan or not but I do not see this machine having a problem with heat. It has over 300 slots on the top about a half inch wide and about 150 -200 one 3/4 inch slots on the bottom.
I'm happy I got it but I don't know if I will hook it up as my Liteon is working fine. As a side note some others were concernd on another board about not having a recipt. I could not find mine either but sent it in anyway. Hopefully they have a better product with their second attempt at it.

  12. Anyone else tried the 1530? I'm curious about it Vs the 1500.... The feature set looks less. My main concern would be recorded video quality. Thw CH1500 seems to do a good job.

    Thanks
    Roger
