My new 108 arrived. Plug it in, rip a DVD @ 5.5x, went up to 10x, then down to about 8.5x. FW 1.10.
What's your speed? Do you think it will improve if I upgrade to 1.14?
Thanks...

Everything I've seen that is not bad.... people complain about 2x ripping speed max. My MaddDog is capped as well.... maybe 4x max. The best one I had was a DVDROM on an old Inspiron... I swear it could rip a DVD9 in about 12 minutes.

Seems to vary from disk to disk. I have had mine ripping at 10+X and others at 2X all new out of the box disks.....
Running 1.14 on mine but since upgrade from 1.10 i have had issues with it not burning 4x media... Yet others i know running 1.14 have not had this problem. Think its my setup at fault. Not bothered by small problems...
