    Hello,

I have made a video-DVD with a menu, using Pinnacle Studio 9, and saved it on my harddisk.

I have made a picture-DVD with a menu, using Ulead DVD Pictureshow, and saved it on my harddisk.

The question is now: How do I merge these two and make a menu where I can select either one (i.e. video-part or picture-part) ? Is there a program that can do this?

I know that I have to rename som of the files, but I am not quite sure in which order. Can the program I am looking for do this for me?

    Please HELP !!!

    Thank's :P

joining dvds with menus is very complex:

i would instead make a new dvd with both the video and slideshow.

If you have the original source data you can recreate the MPEG's and then drop both into your favorite authoring program. Done.

Most 'picture' programs allow you to burn to DVD and/or create a DVD compliant MPEG File. Generate this file and then create the Video MPEG you set to go.

Did the same thing a few weeks back.... worked great ... since I did not have the original DVD Video I had to extract the MPEG's from the VOB files.

    Good luck

  4. I have used both those programs for a similar purpose.

I used TMPDVD Author which can take parts of many DVDs and put them together on one disc.... while you can usually keep the chapter marks, you will need to create new menus.

However, I believe the picture slideshow I created was somehow optimized as it took up very little space on the disc vs. its time. When I played it on the DVD player AFTER remastering it, the whole slideshow shot through with no delays between pictures (i.e. very fast). I don't know if the original program had some other way of pausing on a single frame (as opposed to playing it like a video) since it DID work correctly before I remastered it.

Thank's for your kind answers, but there must be an easier way and a program that can do things for you.

The idea of just make a picture-mpeg is okay, but this also picture-DVD also contains video which is why I've made a menu on this DVD.

DVDReMakker Pro is maybee a way to do things, but when you get to the part of "Modyfi Commands 1...3" it gets real confusing. Another problem is the Host and Doner. Is Host one of the DVD's and the Doner the other, and you want to put the Doner's material onto the Host?

Please help med move on, creating a thierd menu where I can choose between the material the two merged DVD's?

    Thank's

Host is just one of the DVD's and Donor is the other. The Host is normally the DVD that has the more complicated navigation and the Donor is the one that donates the parts to be added to the Host

the main menu file that allows you to choose either DVD is also there. You can replace this with any menu you want as you can create your own using DVDAuthor GUI

the commands part is confusing the first time or so but you will soon get the idea on what to look for and what to do. If you don't just ask as I wrote the guide and it only takes me a few minutes to see what needs to be done
