  2. I haven't played FF7 yet... can't seem to find it for sale anywhere.

I thought FF8 was brilliant. Gameplay had some rough edges but the depth of the storyline and characters was fantastic. FF9 was a little bit too simplistic for me.

FF10 potentially had a lot going for it... however, I feel that it was hampered by the voice acting. Firstly, not particularly good and secondly, reduced the "length" of the main story arc.

  3. That is what a lot of my friends have said about 10, far too short.

Are you looking for 7 on the pc? as I think it has been deleted now.

  4. No, for PS1.

Actually, I probably don't have enough time to play it...

    I never finished FF4 for the PS1...

I put too much time into FFX. I did a lot of side-quests the first run through so when I finally did face the final stage of it I pretty much breezed through it. I think I put 80 hours into that one. For those who think the Ruby Weapon was the toughest fight in the FF series you haven't tried to monster arena on FFX. Even the easy ones knock me out in one round. At least the Ruby Weapon had a weakness.

  7. Ruby was ******* well hard, it took about an hour or so to beat him, however I have never played X so I cannot comment

Wait a sec, it was Emerald that was immune to the lucky strike right? If so then Ruby wasn't hard at all. Just get all your characters to all 7's for HP (You did discover the secret to doing that easily right?) and then enter the fight. All your characters woop up on him like crazy and the rest of the fight takes maybe 5 mins. Just keep casting KOTRT and mimic it with everyone else. If done like this, Ruby is much easier then Emerald...unless I'm confusing the two.

Disclaimer: It's been years since I played that game so I may be totally talking out of my ass.

  9. Emerald was the under water one where you just mimed w-summon knights of the round, he was piss.

Ruby was the one who could only be hurt once he put his claws in the ground and he only did that when two of your characters were killed. When you could finally hit him, he had three attacks to your one and all your attacks were reduced in strength by about 2500%, when you could hit him he normally countered with a 8000hp damage ultima.

Yeah he was well easy (this prooves I played that game way too much as I remember it like it was yesterday).

Yeah you're right. Ruby was the one that was immune to lucky 777's. I think if you used luck 777's on Emerald then he never he got a chance to attack.

Yeah but Ruby wasn't immune to sleep. You enter the fight with two dead characters and he puts his claws in the ground right away, then use a super phoenix to res everyone to full and caste Doom to put him asleep, then mime KOTR with another Doom when he wakes up. The only reason it took so long is because the sequence for KOTR was so damn long

I like how in the later ones the summons use their full sequence only the first time around and use an abbreviated one after that unless you specify otherwise. That was a great idea.

  12. Yeah that was a great idea.

I used to get him with the enemy skill pandoras box which actually used to cause a half decent amount of damage.

Yeah Emerald was a snap pretty much compared to Ruby....ive always tried to make sure Cloud was the one left alive since I always equipped him with the Mythril Armor (which you would have a 50% chance of missing Ruby's Ultima spell) and the Final Attack materia at its master level..so at least you could have up to 5 times to die and come back before it was truly over.

ive heard good things about this game. the bad thing is buying it late and everybody already has their powers built up

im gonna buy it soon. so far ive missed out on XI and XII

im a FF series freak since the first. have played and owned FF1,2,3,7,8,9,10. some reason my favorite has always been FF2. great story line.
