  1. i took a concert dvd i got in a trade, ripped it to one vob file with dvd decrypter and used mpeg vcr to edit it and save as an mpeg file with mpeg2 audio. using tmpgenc dvd author to reauthor it when i go to begin output it tells me my total bitrate is above 9.8mbps and it may not work. apprently the video done on a standalone is about 9.8mbps plus the audio of at least 224kbps. so what should i do? if i author it as-is will it play on most players or will it be something i can only play myself and not share with others?

10.08MBits is the max combined bitrate according to the DVD spec, so I think you should be OK with most DVD players if you continue on as is. If you are concerned about it you can always re-encode it to 9.5MBits or something anyway.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. cool. the bitrate on my project is 10.024 total. i would rather not reencode if i don't have to so i make sure there is absolutely no quality loss from the original. reencoding always makes quality loss a possibility.
