  1. I downloaded the latest version of oSEx application and tried to open it but everytime I double click the icon it will give me an error message stating that there was an error and that other applications were not affected. I even downloaded an older version but had the same problem. For those who were successful in using this program, can you tell me what version you are using? I have a 10.2.8os DDM G4 mac.

You might try upgrading to the latest version of Stuffit Expander and uncompressing its archive again. The symptoms you describe are identical to ones caused by the use of old versions of Stuffit Expander.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

  3. Thanks WiseWeasel. I drag it to my stuffit application since I know I have the latest version and the osex works. Maybe I have an older stuffit lying around somewhere I guess.

Yeah, that's happened to me before. Try doing a search for 'expander' and delete any copies of Stuffit Expander before version 8.0.2.

  7. Never mind. I guess I have the latest version. How the hell did this forum automatically put the link in my post? Funky stuff. Anyway, OSEx won't start up anymore. I know it worked recently, but now (running 10.3.7) it begins to load, then just quits.

Why do you want to use OSEx, by the way? It's been a dead project for a couple years now (along with DVDBackup), so it's bound to stop working eventually. I would suggest using YadeX or MacTheRipper, which are both in active development.

By the way, this forum automatically adds links to the tools section for apps that have been registered in the tool database here. OSEx is one of those registered tools. You can disable that by checking the 'Disable automatic tool link' option when you post your message.

  9. I was just curious. I always use MTR and I use Yade for stills. There was one time only OSEx did the job.
