This is my problem. I've downloaded windows media files from a paid web site. When I view these files, I have to put in a username and password (These files are copy protected). I want to discontiue with this web site, but I still want to view these files. As soon as I stop with this web site, I will be unable to open these files. What I want to do is take these Windows Media Files and convert them to another format so I can watch them any time I want. I have tried a ton of other programs to try to convert these windows media files but with no success.
If there a program or another way of converting these files and getting rid of the copy protection.
Thank you
Corey

I've got a great program for you that should do the trick. It converts wmv to avi. Its called Stoik Video Converter, and its free! As far as the avi video codec, I would recommend going with XviD, see www.xvid.org . Its a free open-source codec very comperable to DivX, and will encode your avi to a small file size with great resolution. Let me know if you have any further questions.
