Spyware and malware injection hell for IE. Look at your process tree after being on their site for 4 seconds.
    You been warned!

  2. Better off in the Off Topic forum, although I can see why you placed it in the Media forum. That forum is more for the actual media, and not so much for the covers and cases.

I don't think I will visit there. I have a recent thread explaining my problems and don't want a repeat so soon after!

I'm not too worried about it. IE's & google's popup blockers, Adaware and Spybot take care of all them for me.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  7. I use AdAware, Spyboy and Yahoo Anti-Spy. It's ridiculous I'd need all of those, but it keeps things under control. Oh yeah, I run Nortin AntiVirus daily as well. So far, after all these years, I've never had a major virus and keep on top of the spyware....

There's also Karels0ft's CDCoverSearch. It's a program that searches cdcovers.cc and allows you to download what you need, without the hassle of surfing that site.

The fact is that MSIE is the most widely used browser and that's not going to change. There are also better ways to persuade people to consider using something else than by belittling them....

It is entirely because of this fact that it is the most vulnerable to attacks and exploitation, in terms of the number of attempts. Naturally, anyone that wants to be destructive will target the largest audience, and this happens to be IE users. That said, I think it is futile to say that you shouldn't use it solely because of this fact. Conversely, it should be the most robust given that it has to withstand so much constant attention and attacks, unlike some of the smaller browsers.

    exactly.

Especially when there is nothing behind it to back it up.

Without digressing too far, it almost comes back to the "I hate Microsoft" mentality IMO.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Its nothing personal against jimmalenko really, I just long ago decided that those who continue to use IE get exactly what they deserve.

If you know there are people out there who like to throw gernades then it a sign of something wrong if you go around standing in a group.

You can claim your safe because "you know what your doing" heck I used to say that. But in the end its just not worth it. IE has major issues. I like Windows 2k, I like Windows XP, but I hate IE.

You can put a gun in your mouth anytime you like, because hey its loaded but the safety is on and you know what your doing. But there is really no room to complain the day something goes wrong while the guns in your mouth.

    Get my drift?

... and there was certainly nothing personal intended in my replies, either

Just trying to gain an understanding as to why you have this opinion - it just seemed a bit generalised to me. Naturally if I'm uniformed, I'm prepared to listen

Would it be too much to ask what reasons you have for having this opinion ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

  22. I've never had any problems with MSIE. The only problems I've had are with other sites that try to load spyware on my computer. Beyond that, I need to be familiar with it because it's used where I work and I have to help people with it. I'm sure that no mater what browsers people use there will be someone who will find a vulnerability to expliot.

Beyond that, this subject has been beaten to death. If you don't like it, don't use it and let other people live with their decisions....

Sure NP. Let me break it down.

To many people use it. And I dont mean that popular things suck. But why let yourself be a target if a few mins will get you something else.

Mircrosoft breaks many standards with IE, so that over time pages are designed for the MS version of the standard. Using IE supports their fake standards.

Three, MS only adds "features" to IE when something is broken. Popup blocking wasn't added because its a good feature with SP2, it was added to shut people up. New features come from other programs like Mozilla and Opera. Development on IE is mostly fixes.

When a major bug is found in Moz people situp and take notice, when its found in IE they just shake their heads. What does that say?

Taking advice from a group that suggest you use duct tape to protect your home?

I had to dump NS long ago. Most sites are IE optimized, so I quit fighting it.

All I see here is opinion. Opinion is fine, but its certainly not something to flaunt to the masses as "facts".

    True

Proven true over time. Name one unique feature MS has added to IE.

But why let yourself be a target if a few mins will get you something else.
True, it also the reason why Mac has almost no virus problems.

When a major bug is found in Moz people situp and take notice, when its found in IE they just shake their heads.
The only Opinion I see, but is a pretty supported one.

Look I'll drop the whole debate as of hitting the post button. But I dont see how you can really think the stuff above is only opinion.
