I was sleep deprived (August rainy season here always gives me insomnia) and there was a question about hard disk magnets being affected by speakers close-by. When I don't have enough sleep, like most people, intelligent thought takes a lot of effort.

Well .....I posted this grand post about how older HDs had servo motors for head positioning ...and they have permanent magnets, but not to worry - newer ones used voice coil actuators which have no permanent magnets.

A complete brain fart. Of course they have PMs - the coil wouldn't move without them. Well, I got about half a dozen replies after mine basically saying I was full of shit. And they were right. My statement was completely wrong

When I first came here, I posted an answer and when I next checked the thread it had the familar blue warning from the moderators.

I thought it was something I had done wrong. Stayed away for three days afraid I had been banned.

The stupid thing was that the warning was for the original poster, but I didn't realize it at the time.

Hard to say, but I wonder how many hits you'd find searching for my name and the phrase "your right" or "stupid me" ect ect

I always thought Cap's was this one...

I know her user name. Would it be unethical to ban her right now and claim she broke one of the rules?
I vaguely remember mine but I'm still trying to find it. Probably somewhere in the computer forum.

Without a doubt my stupidest moment of videohelp-related issues was blurting out "Videohelp dot com" in the house within her earshot. But since that didn't occur here, I didn't include it

Second stupidest was misreading Dolly's suggested inflation pressure of 2.35 p.s.i as 235 p.s.i.

...admiting I'd just bought an R200 disk printer, scanned a rental dvd to test the print quality and yes, you guessed it, sent the printed, blank dvd-r to the rental company and left the original under my scanner.
    Will Hay, fuckwit.
tgpo, my real dad, told me to make a maximum of 5,806 posts on vcdhelp.com in one lifetime. So I have.

Mine was when late one night I posted some advertising not realizing what I had done until the following morning due to alcoholic beverages. I got banned briefly, then reinstated with a warning.

Heh when those CD printers first came out my cousin had a disk he rented that wouldn't play. I asked him to bring it over and it was a blank CD-R with the cover printed on it.

The place he rented it from was convinced it was him. I told him he should have said that if he had done it a) he wouldn't have mentioned it and b) it would have been alot harder to tell the difference.
