Hello everyone. After a successful install of Star Wars Battlefront, I'm unable to start the game; I get this error, "No TnL detected on your display adapter." What does this mean and how do I solve this problem. Does this have anything to do with a 3D feature?

HardwareTnL=FALSE - This tells EQ to not use the Hardware Transform and Lighting features of your video card (if it has them). We do attempt to detect this and most people will not need this line, however some drivers report false information or some setups may not work well with hardware TnL, so this option is there for those situations. You can also set this to TRUE to force EQ to try and use HardwareTnL, this may help some people if there setup is not detected correctly.
try and update your mobo then your vid card. its a hardware issure i guess

That card is from 1998. Even a Geforce 2 MX is better than that. I'd recommend the GeForce FX 5200 PCI. It has 128 Mb of DDR RAM on it, and you can get it for around $80 online.

  8. As Forum Troll says, the FX5200 is a good card, and is probably the best you can do for the price. However, in comparison to higher cards, the FX5200 does not offer much bang for your buck and so you may want to look at splashing out on a 5900XT. It's a nice, fast card with more memory bandwidth (this can be more important than amount of memory in some cases). My brother owns an FX5900XT and it is a very good performer.

If you're happy with a cheap, no-frills card that will let you play your games then go for the FX5200. If you want an upgrade that should last a bit longer and give you a more involving experience, then perhaps spending a bit more might give you more enjoyment.

Yeah, I bought a 5200 and I really regret it. Get yourself a nice Radeon 9600/9800 or GFFX 5900/5950.
