Hello,
I have a Philips DVD711 player and have had problems fast-forwarding/rewinding my SVCD created with both Nero 5.5.0.1 and 5.5.5.6. I followed the instruction here and ensured the scandata.dat file is in the EXT directory. The movie burns fine, looks and sounds great. But when I attempt to fast-forward the movie stops and goes to the beginning. It fast-forwards/rewinds fine using PowerDVD. Any suggestions (ie. what am I doing wrong)??? VCD burns fast-forward/rewind with no probs on my Philips. Thanks..

I have the same problem with my APEX. scandata does not work. You can ff and rwd in powerdvd because of the nearly limitless codecs it uses on the PC where on a standalone, your playback would be limited to the factory decoder. I have found TSCV with VCDImager works excellent for ff and rwd as well as chapters. hope this helps. If there is someone out there with a solution to the NERO scandata problem please let us know.

I had the same problem when using an earlier version of Nero. I upgraded to v5.5.5.1 and have had no problems. Also, when burning SVCD's with the older version I had to manually drag the scandata.dat file into the ext folder. The newer version creates it automatically. I'm not sure if it was because the program had known problems recognizing SVCD clips or what.
Perfect playback on my Apex 5131.
Check for an update on the Nero website.
