  1. I have ripped a DVD to SVCD using DVD2SVCD. Because I wanted the subtitles as well i had selected them to be ripped. After the whole operation finished i found that the subs were infact ripped (for some reason they were ripped to bmp files)

What I'd like to know now is how to play the svcd with the subs.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thnx

EDIT: The files r still in my HD, I haven't tried to burn them

  2. Hi, you may try to use Xilisoft DVD Ripper, which can rip dvds to vcd with subtitle. It is easy.

Did you select (1) SVCD Subtitles or (2) Permanent Subtitles in DVD2SVCD's Subtitles Tab?
    (1) is supposed to allow your player to turn subtitles on or off as you would for a DVD. Not all standalone players support this option.

    (2) The .BMP files are encoded into the video stream. You will always see the subtitles because they cannot be turned on and off.

  5. I selected SVCD subs, not permanent.

The problem is that now i have the movie in bin-cue files and the subs in arar file. How can I use the subs with the movie in my pc? And also if I'm gonna burn the movie, i can only do a image burn, so I will not be able to put the subs in the dvd

The SVCDs have already been authored with the subtitles. Again, SVCD subtitles are not universally supported by standalone players but you may have better luck with software players.

When I created SVCDs with SVCD subtitles, I never saw subtitles whether I played them on my standalone players or my software player.

    EDIT

With the falling prices of DVD burners and media, I've moved from SVCD to DVD. From my experience, it takes roughly twice the time to encode for SVCD as it does to do a DVD backup.
