One more time. I HAVE a vcr, Digital Camcorder, Computer with a DVD burner.
I want to transfer the vhs tapes to the camcorder so I can load it on the computer.
My question was how do I hook up the camcorder, vcr to transfer the vhs tapes.
I DON'T need help transfering the DIGITAL tape to the computer

I think you'll find that your camcorder will need to have an analog pass-thru for you to be able to hook the VCR up to it. If this is the case, then you press play on the VCR and use the camcorder as a A2D converter, feeding it straight into the "capture" program on your computer. So in effect, it is exactly what hech54 said. If you read the pic, you might have figured that bit out

There is no way you would speak like that to me when you weren't even involved and I bet it's the same in return so why bother doing it?

I'm game for a little flaming if you want and I can take anything you can give but leave the newbies alone or at least be nice to them. It just makes you look stupid to the forum veterans when you bash newbies or those less knowledable asking for some advice

bear in mind we were all newbies once (or inexperienced) and instead of bashing them, try to educate them in forum etiqutte and rules in a friendly manner regardless of what you think of them. Your pathetic posts just piss them off (which is what you obviously aim to do) and they probably won't come back as I've seen a few times. Such a hero that you are belittling someone with less knowledge than you and not making them feel welcome. Obviously it's harder to educate them but they can be helped and I'm pretty sure Baldrick would like them to stay instead of leaving due to being bashed. If everyone behaved like you then the only members here would be noob bashers and flamers it would be a right mess

My take was that while the OP probably didn't do himself many favours with a few of his posts and a certain "ignorance", he didn't deserve the behaviour he received IMO. Probably both to blame in part, but that's irrelevant really. It's done now. Get over it.

It's a little fuzzy. That's a pic I took of the statue this past December when we went to Egypt. It's at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, and it resides in a glass case, so the autofocus was a bit off. I sharpened it with Photoshop, but it's not real sharp. There's a story about that statue in another of my posts, and I can PM it to you if you're interested. Very spooky statue

My .02 of advice...eliminate the DV Cam altogether and just buy an inexpensive capture card (ATI TV-Wonder LE is like $40 or so) Capture to AVI using your DV Codec or with Huffy. Then Author & Burn. Presto! 1 Genuine homemade DVD.

I'm not an expert or a DVD God...but I try to help when it is not over my head. ANYONE who takes the attitude that the original poster did WILL get blasted by me....guaranteed. I'm the first person to help someone who genuinely needs help. If you "expect" help.....or even worse...demand help....you are in for some serious attitude adjustments.....and not only by me that is for sure.

if you think that's the best way to reply to someone who posts like that (because they deserve it in your eyes) then I suggest you PM Baldrick and ask if he thinks it's the type of thing he wants in his forum. Why didn't Capmaster react in the same way as you? It's probably because he knows how to deal with someone like that but in a mature manner 8)

judging by your reply, when will certain people realise that no matter how many posts they have contributed or how much knowledge they have, it does not give them the right to blast another member like the way you did (I'm not questioning your contribution to the forums)

I would love to know what kicks people get out of doing this as there are much simpler, friendlier ways of giving a member a little nudge onto the right path. LOL, I should talk but it's not as if my tongue lashing is uncalled for

@Capmaster, here is a selection of your avatars as I was playing in PSP. I think 2 are the same but a couple are a little less blurry on the eye and a little sharper and PM the story



p.s. the one on the right is the 'best' according to my perception of quality, monitor, lighting, viewing distance etc etc. I hope it's not another quality issue thing I've started

I couldn't find a guide on this site for my questions . If I did I wouldn't have posted my questions. For me this site is very confusing to navigate and most of the info here I've never dealt with.

I tried S video vcr to S video camcorder, couldn't record.
I might just buy a dvd/vhs unit and be done with it.
