Help with WinAvi

hey, i want to convert a movie to make a vcd, and i need it by 12 tonight, i put it into TMPGEnc, and the movies widescreen, and im using it on a widescreen tv, i left it alone, and let it get stretched, but, its been going for about 35 min now, and its only about 15 min through the movie, so i was wondering, in WinAVI, is there a way to make it so it can just squish the video to the right size, instead of always keeping the original aspect ratio? please respon, im in a bit of a rush. thanks

i know when i converted my .avi with WinAVI when you click advanced and hit one of the option tabs you can pick Auto, 4:3, 16:9 worked for me.
