cut out some mpeg samples and send them to me or upload the here -- this forum (now) supports files
doesn't need t be a large sample - just a dark scene and a light scene ..
even a couple frame grabs from the dvd would be something to look at and i can offer some opinion maybe"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
ok, so I'm not sure how to get a sample,, it's already mpg format, I can open the mpg in vegas,, can i re-render it to mpg? will that screw things up?
-
Good point, vhelp. I've got my overlay set with a custom "NTSC" preset I made, so the tv set and the computer preview are identical (pretty much).
Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

pretty identical???? Since you seem to have everything wired over there, how do you do it? I thought the basic conclusion was screw it you can't do anything about it since TVs and computer monitors are different,,, what's your fix?
-
only a 2mb limit??
i was looking at the raw avi capture on my television and on another computer monitor,,, it was just too dang dark on the monitor =( -
what is clip.mpg supposed to be as it doesnt have a header and doesnt play

that's the .mpg clip you requested,,, I just clicked on it and it says not found,,, is that because it's over 2mb? it's 2.5mb

http://tsl_v4.swf/ is the link you have there -- which doesn't work ... :
plus compressing mpeg to shockwave - i'm not sure what that does to color compression , but i'm sure it's not good"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
oh, well I don't know,, there's only a 2mb limit, and the mpg2 will be bigger than that
-

ok trying again with a smaller mpg clip
tsl_v4_clip.mpg
Play it on your computer monitor, and play it on your tv and see the difference - This clip hasn't been altered, just rendered from the raw avi capture.. -
